Kepler-16b is an exoplanet located about 200 light-years from Earth, and it orbits two stars in a binary star system, making it a circumbinary planet. It was discovered by NASA's Kepler Space Telescope in 2011. Kepler-16b's discovery added to our understanding of planetary formation, especially in systems with two stars, and highlighted the diversity of planetary systems in the universe.
